  • 1. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
  • 2. I have used a variety of different technologies in the process of making my music magazine. I have used InDesign throughout the whole project, as it is the main basis of creating the magazine. I’ve never used in design before, and I think that I have learned how to work the majority of components, like layers. Also I’ve used Photoshop for an array of images, editing them so they can be used on my magazine. I have had some experience on Photoshop beforehand but I feel like my skills have developed significantly through this project; especially with editing backgrounds. I’ve also used Prezi for a few pieces of work, mainly for presenting research, and for my evaluation.
  • 3. I took all of my photos on either my phone or a digital camera, and I used photo editing websites to edit them as well as Photoshop. The site I used was PicMonkey, which enables you to edit colours, vibrancy, textures and the background. This was a good sight as it had a lot of options for photo editing (even though it was free). But this did sometimes lead to a lack of quality, as certain images were badly pixelated from it.
  • 4. Other technology’s I used were Blogger, which allowed me to present all my research and planning, my magazine pages, and my evaluation. I also used Slideshare for Powerpoint presentations, I liked using this as I could put the information down in bullet points, making it easier to read; it also presents the information well as you can add backgrounds and animation to it. But it also had some down sides as the use of bullet points can mean that you lose detail from the work; similarly it can mean that there are long blocks of text which look unappealing and are boring to read. For some of my earlier research I used Wordle, which allowed me to put all the genres that I wanted in my magazine, in to one document. It had different options for looks which was good; it didn’t have any bad points, but I wouldn’t use it for anything other than bullet points or notes.
