INTRODUCTION • The Preamble to the Constitution clearly proclaims that the people of India have solemnly resolved to constitute India into a Sovereign, Socialist, SECULAR Democratic Republic. • Right to Freedom of Religion is stated under Article 25-28 of the Indian constitution. • It provides ‘ Freedom of conscience and free profession, practice and propagation of religion.’ • It is a Fundamental Right.

Article 25 • The Indian Constitution in Article 25 grants to citizens of India of all religious persuasions freedom to profess, practice and propagate their faith in a way that does not affect public health and morality adversely. • The freedom of Religion conferred by this article is not confined to citizens but also extends to all individuals exercising their rights either in their individual capacity or on behalf of some institution.
