  • 1.  Our primary audience will mainly be the younger generations, people between the ages of 15 and 25, as we feel that these are the people that seek an adrenaline rush from watching horror sequences. The general audience that want to connote our opening sequence to is the mass market and it shall be aimed at both genders. This is because the reactions that you can receive from the opposite sexes can vary a lot, and we want to affect and strike fear into as many people as possible.
  • 2.  Our secondary audience is effectively anyone that contains an interest in the psychological sub-genre, as they may not be interested in the entire horror genre. This is because our opening sequence aims to get into the minds of the audience and psychologically effect them.
  • 3.  Our research concluded that it is the younger generation of teenagers and adolescents that primarily want to watch the horror genre. This depicts that thy enjoy the adrenaline rush from being scared and that they wait for the deliberate response that the genre aims to convey. The biggest known category to watch the horror genre are males between the ages of 16 to 35.
  • 4.  The primary psychographic group that the horror genre aims to please is the exploring category of audience. This group are adrenaline seekers and they look for the jumpy scenes that intend to scare and unsettle the audience. Also the struggler category as they will seek some sensation from the unsettling occurrences in the horror genre.
  • 5.  The certification of the film will have a massive effect on the group of people that will watch the film. This is especially the case with the horror genre as it may contain disturbing scenes only for the older audiences. Horror movies generally tend to be certified as 12A and above as there is a lot of gore and strong language.
